Company Background - Welbeck has been providing the Army with its future Technical Officers for over 50 years and has become one of the UK's top sixth form colleges with an outstanding academic reputation. The colleges continued success has enabled the Ministry of Defence to invest in a brand new state of the art purpose built site for the College at Woodhouse near Loughborough.
The Challenge - The IT infrastructure at the original site proved unstable and insecure. The college suffered from continuous hardware and network failures resulting in system downtime. This proved detrimental to both students and teachers at the college as students struggled to access University entry sites and on line study aid resources. In turn teachers suffered with unreliable teaching aids and unpredictable internal communication with students.
Given this, the principal and network administrator's primary requirement was for an IT infrastructure that did not break down. In addition it needed to provide the college with exceptional internal communications for the students and staff, provide a ‘hacker' proof system and to be dependable enough to enable the college to advance their e-learning programme.
The Solution - Absolute Networks worked closely with the existing network administrator throughout the lifetime of the project to ensure that the precise specifications were completely fulfilled.
